Improving market conditions over the past 12 months boosted investment performance for many firms, and as a result the top-stated selection criterion identified by both pensions and non-profits is now “integrity and transparency.” Interestingly, “integrity and transparency” just edges out investment performance in terms of priority. In addition, the research process has risen in importance in the eyes of both pensions and non-profits, signaling heightened attention to the unique business practices employed by asset managers in delivering performance for their clients.
