Market Strategies International, one of the world’s leading market research consultancies, today announced a number of executive appointments and leadership changes.

All changes are effective immediately.
Melissa Sauter has been named president of Market Strategies. She will leverage more than 20 years of experience to lead the development and management of business strategies across each of the company’s industry-specific divisions, including custom and syndicated research operations. Sauter had been executive vice president and managing director of the firm’s Financial Services division. Prior to joining Market Strategies, she was vice president and general manager for the Americas in the Services and Emerging Industries division at J.D. Power and Associates. Sauter earned a master’s degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in business from Michigan State University.
Christopher Barnes has been promoted to managing director of the Financial Services division. In this role, Barnes is responsible for leading a team of market research professionals who design and deliver strategic consulting across the wealth management, banking, payments and insurance industries. He has deep expertise in market and public opinion research and co-founded the Center for Survey Research and Analysis at the University of Connecticut. Barnes earned a master's degree in political science from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor’s degree in history from Kenyon College.
Todd Mundorf has been promoted to chief operating officer. His role as COO will ensure that Market Strategies’ people and infrastructure are directly aligned with the needs of the clients and markets they serve. Also having joined Market Strategies from J.D. Power and Associates, Mundorf leverages his 20 years of experience in market research and customer experience to build market-driven strategies that result in the optimal client experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan–Dearborn.
Katy Palmer, Ph.D. will take on a new role as chief solutions officer, while maintaining her role as managing director of the Health division. Palmer’s new role as CSO will focus on the continued development of research capabilities and business solutions that align with evolving market needs in ways that help deliver confident business decisions for clients. A published author, Palmer brings more than 20 years of market research and forecasting experience in the life sciences industry with expertise in the therapeutic areas of oncology, autoimmune, infectious disease and central nervous system. She earned a doctorate in immunology from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor's degree in biology from Lake Forest College.
